Your personal information

Please review our Terms and conditions and Privacy policy (below) to create your account or sign in. Here is a simplified summary about what information we collect and process.

We collect some information you or your device send to us, in order to provide our services to you and to your Trust or Hospital:

  • For the legitimate interests of Dr Toolbox Ltd. and your Trust or Hospital (usage statistics, page popularity, editor traceability and accountability, software troubleshooting).
  • To comply with our legal obligations (server access logs).
  • To fulfil our contractual obligations with you, and to perform tasks at your request (contact information).

Here is what personal information we collect and process:

  • The e-mail address you provided to us: we use it as your identifier/username to the site, we need it to verify your professional affiliation, send you messages you have requested (e.g. password change or various notifications), and for website usage statistics (how many people visit or edit your toolbox). We also need it for information history, traceability and accountability (who, how and when wrote or modified a page or a section).
    • We may share this information with the education team or with other administration at your trust.
  • Your name you provided to us: we don't enforce or verify that this is your real name (and you can edit it).
    • We may share this information with the education team or with other administration at your trust.
  • When you connect to the website or app, the request metadata is automatically stored by the server software. We store the metadata for 1 year, as required by law. The stored information is not immediately personally identifiable: the date and time of the request, the requested page or search terms, the network (IP) address of the device, and if the device provides it, the referrer website or page and the browser software version. We may use this information for usage statistics or for troubleshooting.
  • The website and app software may send your browser a temporary "cookie" in order to "remember" your browsing session and your preferences when you go from page to page (for example when you log into a protected area). This "session data" is discarded after you log out, or close your browser, or expires after an inactivity period (browser has not requested another data for some time).
    • We neither store, nor share this information.
  • We advise you to select a strong password. We do not access, store or share your password, we store a one-way cryptographic hash used by our software to verify that you typed the correct password, and according to the current state of technology it is impossible to guess a password from the hash. Note: the mobile app or your browser may allow you to store your password so you don't have to type it multiple times -- your password is stored on your device, not on our servers, and you can clear it in your settings.
  • We or you as an editor may embed in the content materials from YouTube or other sharing platforms: in that case the platforms may collect information from your device, and the fact that their content is referenced here, but they cannot access your Toolbox information above.
